Istamet G 50mg/2mg/1000mg Tablet IR is a combination medication containing three active ingredients used to lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is typically prescribed when diet, exercise and other single or dual therapies are not sufficient to achieve adequate blood sugar control.
Uses of Istamet G Tablet IR:
- Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Contraindications:
- This medication is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus or acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis.
- Patients with active bladder cancer or a history of bladder cancer should not take this medicine.

Side effects of Istamet G Tablet IR:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Gastrointestinal disturbances (such as abdominal discomfort, diarrhea)
