  • 2 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk

  • Let's make the matcha cake. Get some All-purpose flour, sugar, eggs, unsalted butter, baking powder, milk, and, of course, high-quality matcha powder. Preheat the oven to 175 C (350 F). Grease your round cake pan and cover it with parchment paper for easy removal of the cake later. First sift together the dry ingredients including flour, baking powder, and matcha powder. There should not be a bump; if there is a bump, that may affect its texture. So the main point here is to use high-grade matcha powder and have fun enjoying its bright colour and deep flavour.
  • Mix in another bowl butter and sugar until they are very soft; till light and fluffy. This step is critical because it introduces air into the mix, giving the cake a tender, soft crumb.
