Description

Telma AZ 40mg/8mg Tablet is a combination medication primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by widening and relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to circulate more easily, which in turn lowers blood pressure and reduces the strain on the heart. This helps to prevent complications like strokes, heart attacks and kidney issues associated with uncontrolled hypertension. The medication contains two key components: Telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Azelnidipine, a calcium channel blocker. Together, they ensure a smoother blood flow, lessen the workload of the heart and enhance oxygen supply throughout the body. Telma AZ 40mg/8mg can be taken with or without food and it is essential to take it consistently at the same time each day to maximize its benefits. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered, but never doubled. Common side effects include dizziness, headache, nausea and mild numbness. These effects typically subside as the body adjusts. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function and glucose levels may be advised during treatment. Patients with liver or kidney concerns or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, should consult their doctor before use. All concurrent medications should be disclosed to the healthcare provider to avoid interactions.
