Gilli danda is an ancient sport of India, it is origin possibly over 2500 years ago. It is believed to be the precursor of western games such as cricket, Baseball, and softball. The game is played with two sticks a large one called the danda, which is used to hit a smaller one known asgilli. This is an outdoor game and is generally played in the streets or in an open space.
