Lostat-H Tablet is a combination of two medicines designed to help control high blood pressure through different mechanisms. Effective management of high blood pressure is crucial in preventing serious health issues such as heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure.
Uses:
- Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).
Contraindications:
- It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lostat-H Tablet.
- Lostat-H Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
- Lostat-H Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding.
- Unsafe to drive if this medicine decreases alertness, affects your vision or makes you feel sleepy and dizzy.
- Should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease, use is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, dose adjustment may be needed, please Consult your doctor.
- Should be used with caution in patients with liver disease, dose adjustment may be needed, please Consult your doctor.
- This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy.
- Ask your doctor before taking it if you have kidney or liver disease, heart trouble or diabetes.
- Avoid taking this medicine within four hours of going to bed due to its diuretic effect (increased urination).
Side effects:
- Common side effects include nausea, taste change, upset stomach and headache.
- Dizziness and weakness are also common.
- Decreased blood pressure, increased blood uric acid, increased blood lipid level, glucose intolerance and electrolyte imbalance are other possible side effects.
- Frequent urination is not a side effect but the intended effect of hydrochlorothiazide.
- You may experience other possible side effects but most are rare. Make sure you read the leaflet that comes with your medicines and tell your doctor if you are bothered by side effects or they do not go away.
