This tablet can also be used to prevent migraines, heart attacks and strokes. It works by blocking certain chemicals in the body, slowing down the heart rate and making the heart more efficient. It may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medications. While it helps control heart and blood pressure conditions, it may take several weeks to show full benefits. The tablet should be taken consistently at the same time each day to ensure its effectiveness. Common side effects include dizziness, tiredness, headache and slow heart rate.
