This is the easiest palak mushroom recipe, which can be prepared pretty quickly and helps make a wholesome meal. It is one of the perfect choices for vegetarians or those who wish to have more greens in their diet. You will need fresh mushrooms, cleaned and sliced, and spinach leaves, blanched or saut ed. Add finely chopped onions, ginger, and garlic in a pan with oil. Let them turn golden brown, and then add your chopped tomatoes and let them soften. • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2-3 tbsp cream

  • 1 cinnamon
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1 tej patta
  • 1 black cardamoms

Instructions

  • Palak Mushroom is a vibe, let's begin with the recipe of palak mushroom. Start by grabbing about 250 grams of fresh spinach (around 5 cups, chopped) and 200-250 grams of mushrooms (about 2 cups, chopped). The usual suspects for seasoning—ginger, garlic, onions, tomatoes—are a must, along with some killer spices like cumin, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • Heat up 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan. Once it's hot, toss in 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1-inch cinnamon stick, 2 green cardamoms, 3-4 cloves, 1 black cardamom, and a bay leaf. Let them sizzle for a minute or two till your kitchen smells like heaven.
  • Add 1/2 cup of finely chopped onions and saut them till they're soft and golden brown. Then stir in about 1/2 inch of chopped ginger and 2-3 minced garlic cloves. Cook for another 30 seconds—this is where the magic starts.
  • Now, throw in 1/2 cup of finely chopped tomatoes. Season it with ¼ teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, and a pinch of garam masala (about ¼ teaspoon). Let the tomatoes break down and mix into the spices until you've got a smooth, rich base.
  • Time to shine, mushrooms. Add them in and cook for 5-6 minutes. They'll release some water, which you'll want to cook off so they can soak up all the spice goodness and brown a little.
  • Once the mushrooms are looking good, stir in the chopped spinach. It'll wilt in no time, turning into that signature vibrant green. Add about ⅔ to ¾ cup of water to make a nice gravy and let it simmer for 5-6 minutes. This is where all the flavors come together.
  • For that creamy, dreamy finish, stir in 2-3 tablespoons of cream. Sprinkle some kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) on top—it adds this subtle aromatic note that takes the dish to another level. Season with salt, and boom, you're done.
  • Serve this delicious palak mushroom recipe with naan, roti, or steamed rice. The creamy spinach, meaty mushrooms, and fragrant spices combo hits all the right notes. It's perfect for a chill dinner at home or when you're trying to flex your cooking skills for guests.
  • Palak Mushroom is one of those dishes that feels like a restaurant-quality meal but is ridiculously easy to pull off.
