HCQS 400 Tablet is primarily used to treat autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It helps in reducing inflammation, pain, swelling and joint stiffness associated with these conditions. HCQS is also used in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to help improve glycemic control. The medicine belongs to the class of Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drugs (DMARDs) and works by suppressing overactive immune responses. While it is generally well tolerated, common side effects may include gastrointestinal issues such as nausea and vomiting and in rare cases, eye-related problems like blurred vision. Caution is advised in individuals with pre-existing kidney, liver or heart issues and the medicine is contraindicated in patients with retinal or visual field abnormalities.
